I See You

Thirsty for understanding,

A vessel not yet built.

You hide from your insecurities,

your shames, your guilt.

Reaching for the answers,

your looking for something new

Things that speak to your soul,

and you've found a few

You're genuine to a fault,

and people tend to take advantage

And your need for approval

puts you at somewhat of a disadvantage

You give without thought or expectation,

it's a fostered gift

Most of the time your mind is wandering,

somewhere adrift.

Thinking of the past,

and the future yet to come

Curious about how it all works,

but still feeling dumb.

There's a spark in you

that always keeps you going

Your playful nature

and sense of humor leave you glowing

You move with purpose,

guided by some pain

You like to be stylish

and find it hard to abstain

You're trying to reinvent

something you think is broken

Those things you prefer

be left unspoken

There's probably more

than what I'm seeing

From where I'm standing,

you're one pretty awesome being.
